Where customary ownership has traditionally been a major constraint to proper forest management, Sidonian Inc. leverages its unique partnerships and transformative development model to enable access and safeguard against exploitation of the forest resources for generationally-sustainable harvesting practices.

## Our landscape

The Solomon Islands forestry sector is the nation's largest export revenue source, contributing $548 Million (SBD) to the economy in 2023, primarily through raw logs. Value-added manufacturing—such as milling, drying, and semi-finishing—can maintain revenue streams by increasing product value by 30-50%.

Sidonian Inc. aims to contribute to the nation as an indigenous-driven business, improving opportunities and outcomes for local communities through the resources within their guardianship.

## Lands of opportunity

Sidonian Inc Ltd plans to initiate milling operations in West Guadalcanal, leveraging partnerships with customary land owners for sustainable practices. This creates community benefits through job creation, royalties, and livelihood diversification via agroforestry.

A state-of-the-art milling plant is being established in Tenaru to enable Sidonian Inc. to produce high quality sawn timber meeting international standards, reducing waste and increasing economic returns for local communities.
